PRP: Revitalise your skin, revive your hair
PRP skin and hair treatment
Skin and hair exposed to environmental stress are more vulnerable to damage. Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) treatment is a cosmetic strategy to reduce the impact of these environmental effects and revitalise the skin and hair. Our well-known expert, Dr. Sobia, utilises the body’s own growth and healing properties to stimulate the production of collagen, elastin and nascent hair follicles.
This PRP therapy for skin and hair is an innovative cosmetic treatment that rejuvenates the skin from within while also restoring hair volume. The process is highly effective because platelets are rich in growth factors, which stimulate the body’s natural ability to enhance skin and hair health.
Preparation of PRP
PRP treatment involves the collection of your blood (approximately 8 – 16ml) usually from the arm. The blood is then spun down using a centrifuge, a device that spins rapidly to separate out the plasma and platelet portion using the separator gel’ as a special filter. The prepared Platelet rich plasma portion of your blood is then extracted and depending on the treatment area, it is injected back into your skin or hair to re-energise your cells into rejuvenating themselves. The treatment area is numbed with local anaesthetic cream prior to the injection.
You are using your body’s own cells to achieve desired results. The product injected is 100% your own blood by-product (autologous).
Depending on the procedure, it may be used topically in combination with methods like microneedling to improve absorption and for better results.
PRP skin treatment
Platelets are crucial for blood clotting and carry important proteins and growth factors needed for tissue regeneration and wound recovery. All the factors together make it potent for the production of collagen, improving skin’s firmness and hence reviving a bright and attractive appearance. PRP skin therapy is applicable to several targeted areas to address various skin concerns. Common sites include:
- Whole face
- Neck and neckline
- Hands
- Under-eye area
- Stretch marks and scars
- Cheeks
- Forehead
- Jawline
PRP hair treatment
PRP is derived from your own blood, eliminating the need for artificial chemicals or foreign materials that could harm the scalp or hair. This treatment addresses hair loss and encourages the growth of new, natural hair by harnessing growth hormones and proteins. PRP hair treatment is usually considered a hair-friendly option for thinning and hair loss.
The PRP injectables are induced into specific scalp regions where hair loss or thinning is most noticeable. It enhances blood flow to the scalp, repairing and revitalising damaged hair follicles and fostering a more favourable environment for hair regrowth. This treatment is effective for a wide range of hair types by utilising your body’s own platelets to revive hair follicles. The target areas of this procedure are:
- Male or female pattern baldness
- Thinning of hair
- Alopecia Areata (Patchy hair loss)
- Traction Alopecia
- Post-surgical hair loss
- Hair loss due to the impact of any medical condition
- Receding hairlines
