Tattoo Removal – Safe, Effective, Fade-to-Freedom
Erase. Renew. Reclaim Your Skin.
Regret that ink? At Panache Medical Aesthetics, we use medical-grade Q-switched laser technology to safely break down tattoo pigment – colour by colour, layer by layer – with minimal discomfort and no scarring. Whether it’s a small symbol, a full sleeve or a faded cover-up gone wrong, we deliver predictable, progressive fading for all skin tones and ink types
How Tattoo Removal Works
- Our Q-switched laser emit ultra-short pulses in the nanosecond range that shatter ink particles into dust-like fragments.
- The light is absorbed by the tattoo ink particles in the dermis, causing rapid thermal expansion, with minimal damage to the surrounding tissue.
3.The rapid expansion shatters the tattoo ink into tiny particles.
- Once the tattoo ink particles are shattered into smaller fragments, the macrophages can then engulf them.
- The ink particles are then eliminated from the body via the lymphatic system.
- Since tattoo removal relies on the body’s natural elimination processes, it is advised to wait 6-8 weeks between sessions to allow time for the immune system to remove the ink particles
Multi-wavelength precision (532 nm, 1064 nm) targets every colour

Session required
Tattoo removal typically requires multiple sessions, usually between 6 to 10, spaced at 6-8 week intervals, and complete eradication is not always guaranteed. The Kirby-Desai Scale, an 80% accurate tool used by laser technicians worldwide, helps determine the number of treatments needed for successful removal. It takes into account factors such as:
- Fitzpatrick skin type
- Location
- Ink density
- Scarring
- Colour

Frequently Asked Questions
Does tattoo removal hurt?
Sensation: Sharp, hot snaps – like bacon grease. Pain relief: Strong numbing + cold air = most rate 5–7/10. Smaller areas finish in minutes.
Will it leave a scar?
No – when aftercare followed. Q-switched lasers target ink only, sparing collagen. Rare keloid risk in prone individuals (patch test first).
Can I lighten for a cover-up instead of full removal?
Yes – 1–3 sessions fade ink 50–70%. Tattoo artist can work over lighter base.
Is it safe for dark skin?
100% safe – 1064 nm wavelength bypasses melanin. Zero risk of burns/PIH with proper settings.
What about cosmetic tattoos (PMU brows/lips)?
Specialised protocol:
- Lower energy, smaller spot size
- Li-FT saline for iron-oxide pigments
- Avoids colour change to grey/orange
Can I treat only part of a tattoo?
Yes – precision handpiece isolates sections. Ideal for removing names, dates, or mistakes.
